New Mexican raised, Dr. Berry grew up in Albuquerque and graduated from Eldorado High School.  He obtained a Bachelors degree in Biology from the University of California, Irvine, then moved to Chicago and graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry with a Doctor of Optometry and a Bachelor of Visual Sciences.  His clinical experience includes rotations with Veteran’s Administration hospitals, Army troop clinic and hospital, and regional surgical and tertiary care referral center.  After this training, Dr. Berry returned home to serve New Mexico.

Dr. Berry is a resident of Sandia Park, New Mexico, in the beautiful, rural East Mountains.  He is currently President of the New Mexico OptNet Independent Physician Association, Vice President and Third Party Chairman for the New Mexico Optometric Association, Secretary on the Board of Independent Eye Care Professionals, and the Optometry representative to the New Mexico Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee.  Dr. Berry is an active member of the Sandia Mountain Lions Club for which he currently serves as President.

Dr. Berry tries to lead an active lifestyle and incorporates these experiences in his Optometric Practice at Albuquerque Vision Care.  He emphasizes finding the best solutions to each patient’s individual needs and desires.  Medical eye care and its relationship with overall health are passions in his practice.

Dr. Tran is originally from Birmingham, AL. She received her Doctorate of Optometry and Master in Vision Science from the University of Alabama Birmingham in 2014. She then moved to Albuquerque, NM to complete a residency in ocular disease at the Albuquerque Veterans Affairs Medical Center and has been a New Mexican ever since. Dr. Tran is always looking for innovative ways to help her patients’ eyes see and feel great. Her interests include specialty contact lenses, myopia management, dry eye management and esthetics. Outside of optometry, Dr. Tran loves to travel and try new foods. 


Dr. david vise

dr. david vise

David Vise grew up in Springfield, MO with his parents and one older sister. He graduated from Drury College in 1987 with a degree in Psychology and minors in Business and Music. His parents were professors at the college and his sister was a student also. In 1992 he graduated from the University of Missouri St. Louis School of Optometry.

After graduation, he completed a one year residency in hospital based optometry at the VAMC in Albuquerque where he received extensive training in the management of diabetics eye disease, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. From there he was the first optometrist to work at UNMH Hospital in Albuquerque. He provided primary eye care and contact lenses in a large volume practice in a teaching hospital setting where he provided clinical instruction to medical school students and family practice residents. From there he worked at Lovelace Medical Group in Santa Fe and Albuquerque where he provided primary eye care in an HMO setting with extensive experience in the management of ocular disease including taking call for ER patients. After 18 years working in medical clinics, Dr. Vise spent the next 10 years exploring private practice. He worked as an independent contractor in optometry offices all over the Albuquerque metro area, Santa Fe, and nearby surrounding communities. He also operated his own office next to an independent optical shop in Santa Fe. In 2017 Dr. Vise started working at Albuquerque Vision Care where he now practices full time. Dr. Vise worked with Voluntary Optometric Services to Humanity to provide free eye care to hundreds of indigent patients in Iguala, Mexico in 1991 and in Lucea, Jamaica in 1996.

Dr. Vise lives with his wife Bea and their dogs Benny and Pumpkin in Santa Fe. In his free time he enjoys hiking, biking, and snowboarding. He also plays drums and sings vocals for live performances and studio recordings with local bands in the Albuquerque area over the last 20 years.
